AJmk2 2
Ive got a overheating problem at the moment. My car wont run at a temperature cool enough when cruising along the motorway. Oil temperature is fine.Im worried my head cooling pump has stopped working, would this create a blockage? Is it safe to remove these and just fit a T piece?
Gazbarber1982 3
I think the pump your on about is the auxiliary water pump. Located at the top right of the rocker cover. It does most of the work when the engine is turned off as these engines are a hot running engine! You should just about here it buzzing for around 15 mins once the engine is turned off. Most people on here would strongly advise against bypassing it. If you've got cooling problems on the motorway, change your thermostat. It's easy enough to do and can be done in under an hour. You can also check for blockages in your coolant system whilst your at it.
