Check out my project thread, has all the pics in there bout taking the head off..

Just done mine, i thought it was a simple head gasket which to be honest the head gasket only took 2 hrs to get head off, just then i noticed that my timing chain guides had all broke and thats a gear box off job to get to the tensioner guide that supports the top cam chain... And expensive, im in the trade as a mechanic and we get dirt cheap parts, still cost me nearly £500 so far, just spent another 80 quid on leads and plugs today because when you take the leads off to get inlet off all the metal inserts rip out of the middle of the lead..

If you was local id do it but ur miles away lol, chjeck out my thread in project section, and also the timing chain help in this garage section may help you a little....

I GET ALL PARTS TRADE SO THAT AINT A PROB! SO ITS REALLY A QUESTION OF HOW LONG IT WILL TAKE AND MAKING SURE I HAVE ALL THE SEQUENCES FOR THE JOB SOI CAN FOLLOW THEM STEP BY STEP, I HAVEN'T COOKED IT SO HOPEFULLY SHOULDN'T NEED HEAD SKIMMING?? BUT I DONT KNOW HOW FRAGILE THEY ARE??

neve do a head gasket with out skimming the head !!!

Your a nurse right - thats like trying to revive some one after they bin dead a month lol

Youd be stupid to do a head gasket with out getting the head skimmed and of course tested for cracks just incase....

If you wanna come play naughty nurses then ill fix your car ;-)

The head gasket is simple it when you get the head off you notice this... top guide worn away..

And this, bottom guide broke in 4 bits

In order to even replace the top tensioner guide ( 1 in first pic ) you gotta take the gear box off to gain access to the lower cover, then and only then can u slide the guide off its pin...

You gotta think if the chains have ever been replaced before if not they deffo need doing at the same time...
