makster28 0 Posted March 16, 2011 Report Share Posted March 16, 2011 hi finally got the vt on the road and runs well car gets to 90 temp after like 15 minutes then fans kick in but noticed they are staying on for like half hour after kicking in during the drive and the temp still stays at 90,is this normal? i ended up just disconecting them.help apreciated Link to post Share on other sites
ROBSVENTO 0 Posted March 16, 2011 Report Share Posted March 16, 2011 Sounds like the rad fan switch is playing up, just change it there less than a tenner..I wouldnt run it with no fans just incase... makster28 0 Posted March 17, 2011 Author Report Share Posted March 17, 2011 lol my air con switch lights up thats about it no fans kick in when pressed thas another problem i have,vag is now saying short on terminal 30 which i am pretty sure is one of the pins on the fan module numbered 30 the connector which covers this pin has burned and doesnt have a contact i noticed when replacing the old module and i think this is why i havent yet seen stage1 & stage 2 fans,but if if stage 3 aint cooling nothing down its a no winner,il try changing the rad sensor defernate cheers pal Link to post Share on other sites
ROBSVENTO 0 Posted March 17, 2011 Report Share Posted March 17, 2011 Yer i reakon that will do it, if your air con fan dont work you can rule that out, i said that becasue my air con still seams to work and all my cooling fans work..I heard my low speed and the faster speed didnt realise there was a 3 rd lol...Try that switch mate let us know how you get on... makster28 0 Posted March 17, 2011 Author Report Share Posted March 17, 2011 lol ye lots never get the chance to hear the stage3 unless you test it i believe its on a seperate circuit controled by the brown thermo ac / temp sensor and the yellow sensor controles stage 1&2 combined with the fan module going off the cooling guide anyway,what do you thinks up with my ac then mate?probly sumert i mentimed no dout what do you rekon cheers Link to post Share on other sites
Vw_owner 1 Posted March 17, 2011 Report Share Posted March 17, 2011 sorry to thread jack, does anyone know why my vr6 doesnt get hotter then 75 on the gauge? anything to check? when i first brought it, it worked fine and the fans came on accordingly.but it doesnt get hotter then 75 so the fans aint comming on, cheers Link to post Share on other sites
makster28 0 Posted March 18, 2011 Author Report Share Posted March 18, 2011 most probably the yellow sensor in the thermo housing if its not yellow its the middle one out of the 3 it controls your gauge amongst a few other things secondly change the rad sensor that could be giving you a false reading as well both are £11 from euro parts Link to post Share on other sites
