Knightrider 1 Posted March 10, 2011 Report Share Posted March 10, 2011 1997 car with the Scorpion 5000 fitted as OE when originally registered - it was a VAG owned car for first year. The black unit on right in engine bay sometimes makes a faint 'beep, beep, beep' sound after it has been parked for a while. It is very faint. With car parked up, when all's quiet you can hear it from about 2-3 metres away. In day you have to lean down to the rear nearside of closed bonnet to hear it.It has a black cable coming out the top about same size as a high tension cable to the plugs. When I fiddle with this and move it around a little the beeping stops. It is very tedious as it flattens the battery if it goes on for too long (car not being used much currently).Otherwise it all works fine, locks, unlocks, totally closes.Anyone know what is causing this?
