sleepymike 15
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------Right im having major headache problems with the Cadddy VRT now and i need some help. Its a 1993 2.8 vr engine (OBD1 i pressume) so uses a distributor and Omex standalone management. So the story goes, when it was remapped a couple of weeks ago we got it running spot on and now it goes like f**k but we did struggle with a misfire on the day but that turned out to be the ht leads so i had an old set and we fitted them for the mapping session. It was mapped and running fine till the next day it sarted hunting on tickover and as you pressed the throttle it died a bit before picking up.Now the problem is worse as it still dies a bit when the throttle is first pressed but picks up ok after that, but if you leave it ticking over all is fine untill suddenly the revs drop and it stallsIve changed the fuel filter,New Ht leads,New genuine dizzy cap and rotor arm,new genuine throttle position sensor (as when thats unplugged it ticksover fine) and changed the coil.Oh yeah its never run an idol stabiliser valve and ive never had any problems before and its not running a Maf just a MAP sensorSo before i buy anything else or take it to matey who maps it for an ecu check anyone got any ideas? __________________
bungy 2
Fuel partial blockage or fuel tank vent blocked. Does it still do it with the filler cap off.
sleepymike 15
Yes it still does it with the cap off, ive had a gauge running into the fuel rail and it stays at 4bar maybe goes up a little as its die'ing.
sleepymike 15
Does anyone else think it could be the hall sender?
legvw 0
Can you live map? Have you got the software for your ecu? Might be worth plugging it in and seeing whats actually going on. If the hall sender isn't working then it won't give a signal and you''l have a default setting showing. My emerald ecu, if a sender/sensor isn't working will either show a red figure, or a default figure, which won't change when the engine is revved.
sleepymike 15
No i havent got any software, i would imagine i could download it easy enough but i still dont have a cable! :^)Ive ordered a new hall sender and if that doesn't sort it then i will have to take it to the man in the know and get him to plug it in. legvw 0
Might be worth sorting out a cable and software, it will save you money in the long run because you won't have to pay someone to diagnose any issues you have.Good luck anyway
