VR6Pete 1,455
Well, I'm not far off getting the vr6 ready for the road... As it's been sworn for over a year, no MOT and insurance. How (inside of the law) do I go about getting it MOT'd? Obviousley Id have to get the car to an MOT station, but then I can't tax it without an MOT and obviously I'm not keen insuring it until it has a 12 month ticket on and tax? Nero Mk 2 8
Get a 1 day insurance policy and make a appointment for a MOT, you can legally drive to and from a mot test centre with a appointment.http://www.google.co.uk/search?aq=0&oq=1+day+car&sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8&q=1+day+car+insurance
VR6Pete 1,455
And what about having no road tax?
Nero Mk 2 8
You will be legal to drive to and from a mot appointment without tax mate,
davidvsb 0
As above, but watch the insurance. I'm sure there is some small print on most policy's that states that the car has to be taxed and mot'd for the insurance to be valid.Could be wrong but worth checking out. craggsy 91
As Chris said mate, just make sure insurance is legit as most insurance just state that car has to be in a road worthy state. Nothing about must have an MOT.Just get a booked in time so you can tell the police, in writing if needs be
VR6Pete 1,455
Sound. Dont think I'll bother with 1 day insurance at those prices! I can insure this for 220/ year under classic car policy so might just cross my fingers and hope it passes first time... So close now!!
