weemo1rush 0 Posted February 9, 2011 Report Share Posted February 9, 2011 Not really sure what to do.£1400 will get me a rebuild from a company but im not sure i fully trust them .£450 will get me a lower mileage engine which i can transplant and i fancy doing it myself will be my first take out and put in.Get rid of whole car and get another maybe 3 door with leather maybe lower mileage.what should i be paying for chains to be done as i think thats what is making the noise.what do you guys think is the best direction? CALICO 130 Posted February 9, 2011 Report Share Posted February 9, 2011 why dont you keep all this in the same thread sop as people know what you are thinking of doing before they try to sell you an engine you do not need Chains are a days work for a competent mechanic garages will try to charge about 900 you should be able to get a good example for 1500 if yours has good body work you might as well keep it and transplant a good engine into it or have your chains done its not worth transplanting an engine that will need chains doing shortly Link to post Share on other sites
