manifolds amd throttle body, 2.8 vs 2.9 back to back dyno runs. anyone?

hi all, as the title really, everyone says the 2.9 tb and manifold is the better one to go for but i cant find any hard evidence on this?? if the 2.9 is better for power mayber the 2.8 is better for torque?? im interested in any info or input on this please :)

I think the whole reason behind the 2.9 was to make the Corrado the fastest production VW, which it was until the R32 came along. They just wanted to eek 150mph out of it on the Autobahn, so it needed some top end.... hence the breathing setup for a more pronounced pull up there.

The Corrado doesn't really start pulling until 4000rpm. It's a sluggish old boat below that. Leggy gearing, heavy car, it's pretty underwhelming!

By comparison, the MK3 OBD2 VR6s (highline etc) pull just aswell, are just as quick, but have more torque low down.

To be perfectly honest I have no idea why folk want the 2.9 stuff really. I was glad to get it off my engine, LOL! :-) I've not even found a use for it in Forced induction either. I ended up putting a standard 2.8 throttle back on.
