grom 0
what powerflex bits are worth doing? should I buy the full kit or are some bits more important than others? Im on a budget.also perhaps a stupid question, but are anti roll bars standard or are they an aftermarket add on?
Ben Seabrook 4
the car does have arb's on it but they are quite small the ones you can buy aftermarket are much beefier and stiffen things up a lot - all the bushes are worth doing mate but if your on a budget worth looking at one of the Bugpack sets for the mk2 as most of the parts are interchangebale and they are a fair bit cheaper

HAMMER_VR6 0
Change all off the bushes on your motor for best results. My car was still running the original bushes. I replaced the lot with powerflex and noticed a huge difference. Felt really tight and the steering was instant. well chuffed!!!However they are mega expensive. Also note that if you do decided to replace your bushes you will need to get new bush bolts from VW you cant re-use the old ones.VR6 golfs are fitted with a 20mm front anti roll bar. Mk2 GTI only fitted with a 18mm so they are not interchangeable. My complete kit consisted of 20mm front anti roll bar x22x front wishbone mounts2x rear front wishbone mounts2x rear beam mounting bushes

bungy 2
OEM bushes are made of rubber and have considerable "flex" which some like for comfort. Ploybushes last longer and are more direct with some companies offering different grades of stiffness. You'll probably find a lot of yours are the originals and well past their best.
