MAF, ISV, changed it all, help!

Recommended Posts

ok so my car was revving itself, so i plugged out the MAF and the revs started climbing like a mofo, plugged it back in and the car drove well, replaced the ISV with another one i got from my buddies car, and my vr is now idling at 900rpm, used to idle at 600rpm.....

on my way to work this morning i had a go with a 2.0 polo and he managed to keep up with me till 4th gear, where before i would leave him standing in 3rd... so the car is not driving like it should, feels like its holding back now.

i know the best bet would be to get a new on at the stealership, but it's £110 for one new, and they have to order it from the factory.

The car is however using less fuel now, sounding deeper, but there's no pull to go along with the grunt.

so what else could i check.
