MJ Vr6 79
Lets see if anyone can crack this....?My VR has issues re-starting, early morning start is fine, drive for 30-40min, switch car off, re-start and does not wanna fire, no cranking nothing.Just ignition lights are onn...Everyone points at starter, or starter solanoid. But very unlikely to be that, as if you give the starter a live at the same time it will crank..Ive had this problem on a MK3 8V Gti before, same friggin thing,I solved the problem with a change off relay, but cannot remember which one it was...?Can anyone help at all..?Ive researched this on google, and apparently its a common fault on the MK3's...Anyone...? Ben Seabrook 4
Ive had this problem on a MK3 8V Gti before' date=' same friggin thing,I solved the problem with a change off relay, but cannot remember which one it was...?[/quote']on the 8v it would have been the hall sender relay mate I would think ( no30 ?) however with the vr I would think it might be an immobiliser problem as I had one once the engine warmed up it wouldn't start or engine temp sensor ( blue one ??) which could have gone too
MJ Vr6 79
Thanks for the info on that Ben, But ive put a new Temp Sensor inn 4 months back, and trust me, I know the issues when thats happenin!
Ben Seabrook 4
then factory immobiliser or ignition coil might be suspect mate, as said this was the issue with my old one and only happened when the car was warm

Ben Seabrook 4
sorry mate not said that very well !! coil reader that reads the chip in the key, goes around the ignition barrel and sends the signal to the ECUalso I guessed you have checked the ecu relay ? MJ Vr6 79
If it was the coil reader the Car would still crank.Im beggining to think the same as what you just said, the ECU Relay, which is the ECM relay, Engine control Module, would that be 109..?Apparantly my VR is not suppose to have one..Unless I have the wrong Relay in there lol..And is it 109..?
