gio3823 0
Hi Im new here in this forum and I am having problems starting my mk3 vr6, I will explain whats going on.Is a 2.8L VR6 DOHCI had a new head replaced on the car, new clutch, new flywheel, new timing chains, and new tensioners, new spark plugs, new spark cables, and new coil pack. The car has been parked for a year now due to these new items installed, now the car is ready to go and it wont start.I hear the starter and then a popping sound from the muffler but no start, also the oil light is flashing on the dash board. What do you think the problem is? legvw 0
Hi and welcome to the club. When you say hear the starter, does it turn the engine over? Or just click?Have you put the leads on in the correct order on the coilpack? The oil light will flash until it detects oil pressure, when the engines started and running. legvw 0
Sounds like its a miss fire. Try checking the ht leads are plugged in correctly.
J5KE F 0
Just a suggestion, but who did the chains..? I know that (from experiance) chains are notoriously difficult to allign, and its not uncommon for even experienced general mechanics to get this wrong, vr's generally benefit from a vr knowledgeable mechanic
