Tailgate

This is the last job I have to do as far as bodywork. So basically on the tailgate there is a huge rust hole that goes behind the number plate that I have filled and sprayed , The paint has also faded in places and it doesn't look great. A new one is about £120 in primer , and I have to get it shipped to guernsey then painted. Or I get one second hand. What's the best thing to do ?

Buy a second hand cl or gl tailgate, they don't seem to rust like vr 1's.

I got a complete tail gate for my VR6 yesterday. Its the same colour as mine, so no need for a respray. It cost me £40

Would it be worth a ferry trip over or is it too expensive?

last time i checked for a ferry trip its £100 each way so id be looking to use a courier

I got it from a breaker near dudley, I found another mk3 golf today with a good tailgate in Birmingham, when I was taking its headlight for £15

might be interested although i would need to get it sprayed, but how much for shipping to guernsey? i spotted some brand new ones on ebay but shiping was near on £90
