well whats happened is the big end went on my 150,000 mile block. went a bit quick round a corner and the oil light flashed on.. few months down the line and a tiny little tap started sounding like an AK lol

new engine devlived to my door for £240, 88k looks mint no leaks, happy days.

get my engine lift back off my mate 6pm today. 11 rushing my balls off and its all in ready to go, water PAS strearing all top up, bit of smoke coming from the starter motor when you turn the igntion. Sort that out (battery in boot and the way all the eye lets where sitting it wasn't making a good contact)

theres my excuses lol so yeah like a proper massive nob head i just go and start it up, problay ran for 3 seconds before i remembered theres no oil in it, turned it off. added oil. started again and it sounded mint

it sounds alright now. no knocking or tapping, doesn't sound super smooth though. but theres no sound deading in my car and i know there ment to be alittle be noisey. its been so long since ive hurd what there ment to sound like.

you recon 3 seconds with no oil has damaged it? how smooth does yours sound

You might be lucky mate, but running any engine with out oil won't do it much good.

Just check oil level more frequently, and look out for blue smoke from the exhaust.

Run it for 500 miles, another service, see how it sounds then.

as above you might have caught it in time... but def do an oil change after a few hundred miles and hope for the best... got my fingers crossed for you too!!

cheers guys. going to try and take it to stealth on saterday and see if vince thinks it sounds normal or not. his probaly hurd 1000s of them
