rsweeney 40
I'm doing some work on the gearbox next weekend ( with it in the bay ) and if it sorts the gearbox problem out I will have a look at the timing chains, if I do I can tell you what I find , it might point you in the right direction
rodney 17
I thought the noise in the thread was similar to your post... Tony is a mobile chap so not sure how far he travels or will meet you?? If doing the chains do the clutch at the same time as you have all those bits apart. There is a set of chains on sale here at the moment so have a look and go from there... Tony tends to charge on the £500-£700 rates iifc depending on how far he has to travel and parts and tea and bisuits etc etc

rsweeney 40
cheers but guernsey is a a long trek and i still have to spend out on the gearbox may be a while before i can afford to do the job. i started work on the gearbox today and found more problems,i need the lead that connects the gearbox's internal harness to the rest of the gearbox loom. i was quoted £108 for the timing chains , tensioners and guides but do i need the tensioner bolt as its another £50 or so
