My 1995 Corrado - and a bit of refurbishing - story

Just thought I'd add my thread here as well - it's a bit old "thread" so timline isn't necesarrely correct now

I picked up this Brombeer 95 VR6 from Stockholm - Sweden (2008), it's a bit hard to start, but haven't been able to go over it properly yet.......drove it about 1000 km from Stockholm to Bergen - Norway.

The pics are quite bad, as I haven't taken any pics of it myselfe yet, but this is how it looked while it was still swedish...

Funny story about this car though, was never sold as a new car as it was in use by Volkswagen themselves, according to VW Automuseum (long story short, due to registration in Norway, I tried to find a first date for registration in Germany, wich doesn't seem to exsist, as VW doesn't register these cars on a "normal" german plate).

It got pretty much all equipment, besides leather. It got sunroof, AC, double airbags etc, and it's done about 119000 Km, and got a full service record.

Gona do the chain replacement before I register it in Norway, so it most likely will be sitting until next summer... (Not planning on using it on norwegian SALTY roads during winter time.... )

Some small updates - things takes time....

Subframe almost finished assembled, with new R32 rear bushings, new front bushings:

New ball joint and swaybar end link:

Maybe the colors are a bit more correct here then the previouse pix - it still got some "spark" to it though...lol

The engine is now almost ready, the chain have been done, new lifters, new valve stem seals, MK4 head gasket, new stainless crack pipe, all new plastic (thermostat housing etc), all new sensors on the oil-filter housing, and in thermostat housing. it's pretty much assembled only missing the crack pipe/thermostat housing + a few other bits a pieces.

The block have also been etched primed and painted with anthracite gray.

And the anthracite gray paint (2 coatings) (I did 3 thin coats - but pics taken after second painting) (it's currently drying up the last layer)..

Also managed to fit the front "drivetrain"

Got the drivetrain re-fitted, and it's now able to stand by itselfe (Today - so a small mile stone).

The rear axel ready to go on - brakes refurbished at Bigg red and everything else is new (don't mind the old brake line - it's getting replaced)...

Finaly some real progress being done on this Corrado.

- Got new brake lines and hoses +++ fitted (going to have to get some new OEM VW brake hoses though as the goodridge stuff I bought is total cr** IMHO - the rear was wrong, and the front ones (one side) doesn't seem to hold the seal properly... ).

- Got the engine fitted in the car - still some electric to be connected, and some of the water hoses etc.

- Missing the air-intake as I lost the gasket between the TB and the air intake - new one ordered.

- Partly fitted the Hartmann Exhaust system - missing the midle "pipe" as I have to cut it to fit.

Might add that it came with airbags - AFAIK not so common on the C:

thnx m8 - pretty much a standard C, but tried to get it up to the standard it was in when first entering the streets....lol..

hopefully gone a bit beyond that - for me it's a summer car as the salty roads of Norway would tear it apart within a few years....

Realy not that much of plans further - although most likely a "never ending" project so will be small things done I guess.

Will keep it standard OEM car.

Will have to adjust down those coils though....

And figiure out a little "starting problem" - sometimes have to crank for quite some time before it fires - it always starts though....
