Am I being stupid or very clever??

Ok I'll put this simply save any confusion

I have merc wheels so need adapters

Merc adapters= £300ish (unless I get custom)

Vag adapters= £150

But I was thinkin I could just get the new vag range adapters that are the same pcd only difference is the center bore.... But i thought I could just get some spigot rings n it works out the same

So am I bein stupid or will that work??

Depends if merc centre bore is bigger or smaller than 57.1!

If smaller then yes spiggot rings if no then ...erm no

Or did u mean if vag bore was smaller?

Vag is 57.1 and merc is 66.6.... And I can get spiggots those exact dimensions

centre bore for merc wheel is 66.5 so yes spiggots from 57.1 to that would work

H&R adapters are cheaper for merc adapters the audi/vw adapters

Result!!! That's £150 Savin then... Nearly enough to put tyres on them :-)

Not sure on the thinkness' yet, still gotta work that out properly, on venom I looked at the FK ones their £75 a pair

Ive just 'modded' a set of mini wheels for my mk2!!

Mii centre bore is 51 mm, as we know a vw is 57.1.

I used an End Mill and a 360 deg. rotating table, clamped wheel to the rotating table and used a dti guage to find the centre axis of the wheel, then i move the wheel to where the material i wanted ro remove started and cut in 3.05 mm then rotated 360 deg..

worked a treat!!
