fv8 0
I would appreciate some help with this or some advice.i've just recently come back off holiday in germany and while i was there i had the car valeted. But when i picked the car up i disvovered there was a stutter and a occasional backfire coming from the engine compartmant. The stuttering comes when i pull off mainly from below 1000 rpm upwards to 2500 rpm!?!i've blown out all the electrical cables but no difference.Has anyone got any suggestions on what i can do next???or any ideas what this could be??Thanks in advance
VR6Nat 9
probably some water has got into the coilpack, have a look at it and check if it is cracked or not... you can repair the cracks with apoxy resin or just buy a new one if that is the issue...

fv8 0
Hi Guys, ritght been on a mission today to find out what is actually wrong with car.As recommended i checked the recesses which were all ok as i did blow them out before i drove back from germany.I also took off the coilpack and dismantled it and found slight corrosion which i cleaned but no joy still stuttering!!!So i took it to a local garage where they did a diagnostic on the vehicle and it come back with a fault "IDLE AIR CONTROL VALVE".Now i'm not sure how this works and if i can dismantle this to see inside. So is it possible for me to take this apart so i can clean it or will a new/used one be nessecary. Thanks in advance Guys

craggsy 91
Well if your profile is right then your car is a '97 so doesnt have a idle control valve....idle is controled by the TB itself.I would say that you change plugs and leads then if coilpack is ok.Could just be a coincidence that leads gave up after engine was cleaned. VR6Nat 9
also try unplugging your maf and see how the car runs without it, maybe some water got onto the connections...
