BigSi 0
Looking to do something with my suspension!!! Currently on standard springs/shocks, but fitted Neuspeed ARB's.Main trouble is the Back is sitting very low, almost looks like it has been dropped by 40mm! Awsome GTi says it is very common for the springs to sag (Mine is a 1997 with 51k).Anyhow been looking at loads of other threads and it seems to be a very mixed bag of opinions of what to go forEibach springs with koni dampers (is SSK just a type/model of koni damper??)Various FK coiloversH&R coiloversbilstein kitsA lot of places I have been looking at sell AVO coilovers (sport evolution) I went to the local performance specialist in Macclesfield (EARS) and the guy there really rated them. Looking on the net they would be about £550 delivered.Anybody had any experiance with them? How good are they for handling V's comfort?Any comments appreciated
Slim 0
Have a look at www.motorsportworld.co.ukThey have Eibach coilovers for around £600 delivered.Heard a lot of bad things about the quality and the ride of the Avo's.
BigSi 0
Cheers for that SlimI know comfort will be lost doing anything other than standard, but I want to hold to as much as possible, so it sounds like the AVO's might be a bad idea!
acf8181 0
yep, i heard poor stuff about avo's as well.
tommy 0
ive got avo coilover's on my mk2............ive got no problem with the ride/comfort side of them as they are fully adjustable but to change the rebound on the rears you have to scrabble around under the car trying to turn a dial on the bottom of the strut......the fronts can be adjusted from the top which is much better,....the other problem is the locking system avo use, rather than lock one collar against another to fix the ride height you have a small grub screw that screws into the collar thus holding it in place, this can become seized causing all sorts of problems (I know ive been there) ~ ........ive got koni's on the vr and are much better but then again they are more expensive too,....I?d recommend something like the fk koni sport as a good compromise [ Edited Sun Jan 16 2005, 10:01PM ]
