Head gasket swap

Right I have come to the conclusion my head gasket is on it's way out, White smoke from exhaust quick coolant warm up and building alot of pressure. So my question is what is needed for head gasket change? Am I right in thinking:

head gasket

head bolts(how much am I looking for arps

check head for warpage

check valves etc for wear and tear

I'll look at the chains too.

arp headbolts are only needed if you intend to take the head off again. if yes then c2 motorsport on here do all arp`s . a gasket scraper wouldnt go a miss to get the baked gunk off.

Well I don't really want to have to take it off again. I have seen some on eBay but they come from America.

ive just done my gasket gsf do the head bolt set only 22 quid got my head gasket from the states because they done the 12v vr6 in the mk4 golf and its metal try www.intengineering.com/mk4-head-gasket-for-12v-p8591343.html

standard is fine if standard power, c2 motorsprort uk can get metal gaskets

I shall give them a call then. What advantages are there over using standard gaskets to metal ones ?
