Jasevr6 0
Right now you guys have told me my vr6 is rare do I keep her standard or do I start doing stuff too her?? I was thinking about stripping the back down for weight loss what do you lot think?? Need help on this? Is the car worth more standard or kitted up? I suppose I could do stuff to engine and susspension etc! I've started to get parts I need like rear hub and bearings. Still looking for gearbox mount tho! Am thinking of putting coilovers on but not sure what's the best for price wise so any ideas you lot have please feel free to advice me!Thanks guys JAY
VR6Nat 9
its totally down to you what you do... ultimately modifying a car does not really add any real value.... you find people want really mint original examples or they want to do the work themselves. You also end up losing the money as what you have spent doesnt get earnt back through selling the car... however it all depends on what you want??Do you want a car you appreciate and want to keep hold of? Do you want a car that's going to possibly earn you a bit of money in a few years or do you want a car to just sell on if you get bored in a few months? You kinda need to decide where you want to go with it before you decide what to do. :) then we can help!! Jasevr6 0
Ok thanks nat! Appreicate any advice I want to keep the car for a while once I have done work to her I my even keep forever the thing is i don't wanna keep spending loads but I would like to improve a little. I mean I need fronT shocks so do I just buy coilovers all round or get second hand shocks? If I was to buy coilovers what would you recomend? My mate got some off eBay for £190 but not sure if there anygood! I need to find out how much she would be worth with no problems? I had a quick look to see how much there worth but none was standard?
VR6Nat 9
Well if you have plans on keeping her then just start small and see how it goes.... Coilovers are always better than shock and springs as you can adjust them whenever you feel like it... if you just want a drop for looks and are not too worried about performance and ride comfort then the ebay ones will do the job, however it is one of those things you get what you pay for.... i run Gaz GHAs on mine, they are fully adjustable, which means not only height but damping as well, so i can get them just right for me... i think they are great, but they are close to £600 new, thats with delivery, however if you become premium member (which i recommend anyway if you're buying parts) then you get a hefty discount which beings them down near on £100. I cant personally speak through experience of others but i do know the fks are prone to seazing/leaking after a couple of years...Im sure others will be along with their opinions. As for anything else, if it was me id concentrate on getting her back to 100%, get all the niggley jobs out of the way as they will only get worse.... once its all spot on then just do the odd bit here and there as you fancy it and can afford it... It doesnt all have to be done overnight, just take your time and see how it unfolds. :)
wayne_1@tiscali.co.uk 27
u can still do it up and keep all the bits from your car so that way u have the choice to keep it modified or turn it back to standard if u ever sell ive got a syncro and ive modified but kept all the bits to turn back to standard
