tomjonesrs2 0 Posted May 22, 2010 Report Share Posted May 22, 2010 I am having trouble getting my vr6 to go into 1st gear,5th sometimes and also reverse. My car has done 220 thousand miles. I believe that the set up from the gearlever to the gearbox is by cable. Having looked at it there seems to be some adjustment available at the gearbox end within the engine bay. legvw 0 Posted May 23, 2010 Report Share Posted May 23, 2010 Check for slack at either end of the cables, on the joints, gearbox and lever end. If theres alot of slack, i'd replace those bits first as it won't help with selecting gears! :-) Link to post Share on other sites
