VR rad conversion

Hi guys, im in the middle of doing a VR conversion. Being quite tight with money, I desided id buy a doner car (Mk3 R reg with eibach coillies for £500!) and have only now came across this problem. Me and my mate started taking apart the Mk3 and discovered that the rad fan assembly is built in to the slam pannel setup. I presumed that, like my Mk2, the fans would just separate from the rad but obviously not. Now i know that you can get a fan setup that is not attached, but i cant seem to find them anywhere (ebay haha). To be honest im quite p*ssed off as the rad is perfect. Any advise would be much appreciated...

You can use the mk3 rad and fans but u have to do some trimming to the plastic to get it to fit.either that or use corrado vr6 set up its a direct fit for the mk2 and is alot neater and oe lo oking in my opion check the mk2 vr6 forum fella they will help u out as they have a conversion guide

Ok Doke, i will need to look out for a 'rado radiator then. Im kinda gutted because the rad is near perfect due to the fact the aircon element took most of the abuse but awell, needsmust. Thanks for the advice

dont forget, with a corrado radiator, you will also need corrado top and bottom radiator hoses !!

are you using clutch cable if not, you can use the corrado peddle box

i might take the rad and fans off your hands if you decide to go with the rado set up mate, let me know if you do and what sort of money you'd be looking for. Cheers

Sorry mate, just cut back everything from the fans to fit the mk2 as i cant afford/find corrado setup

u can use a seat cordoba sx 1.6 fan assembly with the mk3 rad, looks a loads better than a cut down mk3 item
