Checking timing is correct?

Recommended Posts

There should be a mark on the 'middle' sprocket-the one that does the oil pump, and one on the end on the crankshaft (gearbox end), and the cams just need to be lined up level on the end with the slot in it for a piece of 5/6mm plate.

Think thats it!

Yeah you must ensure your intermediate is aligned correctly, gearbox end, you will need to take off chain cover and use a small mirror to check that when cams are aligned the intermediate pointer is aligned with vertical line on block.

Cams align every 2 turns of crank

Intermediate aligns every 4 turns of crank

Thanks for all the info guys , will definatly give it a look over , yea it just runs almost like its missfiring , seems to pull well higher up the rev range but has no power down low.

Im getting a strange sound from the fuel rail when ignition is on , wonder if maybe i have an injector stuck open.
