DaveVR6'S' 0
hi all, i just swapped my engine from my golf vr6 to my corrado vr6. iv kept all the corrado loom etc and just swapped engine and ecu. went to start and its cranking over but not firing. iv checked the fuel and nothing i cant even hear the fuel pump. i also checked and no spark. the car has a clifford concept 300 alarm and the battery has been disconnected for about 3 days so just wondered if the immobaliser has stuck on and i have to reset it or could it be engine problem ?. Any help would be great ! cheers

russj249 2
hey' date=' did you ever find out what your problem was cause same things happened to me? [/quote']Do you have an aftermarket alarm or immobilizer on your car? also have you just lost fuel or spark or both?If there's nothing, take a look at relays 109 and 167. 109 is bottom right of the fuse box, and 167 top row, third from the left. these are for the main ecu and the fuel pump. They won't work without each other as the ecu relays powers ecu, which then powers fuel pump. It might be worth removing these, giving them a little tap and refit. the early stuff use mechanical relays before they chanted to electric relays on the obd2's. Mechanical relays are way more likely to stick and faulter that the later ones.
VR6Pete 1,455
Check relays and fuses first of all....even if imob has kicked in, id expect it to prime in the first instance and cut out almost immediatley once it fires....
