EugVR6 0
Hi All My VR has failed MOT on a leaking rear leg and as she has covered 115,000 I thought about changing all the suspension for something a little firmer but not aftermarket firm, Now I was wondering if I could change all the suspension legs for 16V GTi legs as they are better than VR ones " so ive been told"!!!I have priced up a set of 35mm lowering springs but I'm stuck on what to do with the legs, do I plump for std VR legs all round or go for 16V legs?Dose anyone know what sort of rates the std vr springs and legs are against 16V legs and springs,Love the car but she does handle crap
Lukey. 381
From what i know, as i was going to pretty much do the same as you, the GTI shocks are the same just a bit firmer than VR6. the VR6 ones are softer for a more touring motorway cruise setup. I dont know if the shocks have the same poundage though and youll have to make sure you get VR6 springs not GTI as the VR6 has different corner weights due to the bigger engine.
