polo_vr6 0 Posted March 1, 2010 Report Share Posted March 1, 2010 hi guys as you know i have been havin problems getting my vr6 started but she now runs sweet as anut apart from the battery light is always on and drinks the battery dry is this my alternator dead or a sticky relay as thats the only two things i think it can be as its a brand new battery cheers Ash Link to post Share on other sites
Scott 0 Posted March 1, 2010 Report Share Posted March 1, 2010 probly is the alternator or the internal voltage regulator mate, measure the battery terminals when running, should be around 14.4v if the alternator is charging, and below 12 if its not, and will drop steadily. Check the earthing of the alternator, and the heavy lead to the battery from it. Link to post Share on other sites
