SamboVr6 0
This could be a really daft question so i apologise in advance 8-)Looking to get a front upper strut brace and was just wondering if i need to get one specifically for Vrs or will any Mk3 one fit?Someone has said something about clearance for the coolant resevoir so i thought id ask
Ben Seabrook 4
yeah you do need one designed for VR's because of, as you say, of the clearance issues

SamboVr6 0
Ok thats cool, thanks.I found one for sale but it says only for vrs without aircon. Does that make a difference?
Ben Seabrook 4
not sure as neither of my vr's have had aircon but maybe the pump is mounted somewhere that would foul the brace ?
SamboVr6 0
Hmm, i shall have to have a bit of a look then as mine has got aircon :-p

SamboVr6 0
ooohhh fancy ! I know get me! Bit pointless really, ive only ever used it once :^) visibly saw the fuel needle dropping so turned it off rather sharpish lol
Ben Seabrook 4
yeah it is nice and am desperatley trying to justify buying it as it would finish my engine bay off really nicely !! Ha ha will be nice in the summer though, but as you say it does hit the fuel economy and apparently weighs a tonne too !!
SamboVr6 0
Saving all my pennies lolIt is heavy, thinking of ripping it out but kinda defeats the point of it being a highline lol :-#
Ben Seabrook 4
Yeah will sell some more bits from my old car first and then see how I stand at the end of the month Yeah might as well keep it as it's a good selling point tbh and it won't make that much of a difference performance wise if it's turned off ! SamboVr6 0
True, its good to have. Im like yeah mines got heated leather and aircon :-p lolIve not been in another vr so i cant really say how much difference it makes weight wise so i cant really complain
Knightrider 1
If you are ever required to go anywhere booted, suited and wearing a tie in the summer the aircon is a bloody godsend. It is such a big engine, I doubt it makes that much difference to fuel consumption and power. If you are caning it full on, you've probably got the windows open to hear the roar! Agree it weighs a lot.I use the aircon more in the winter. My car's windows seem very prone to misting if anything slightly damp gets into it (i.e. you). Because the aircon dehumidifies the incoming air, heater full on and a short burst of the aircon clears the window misting really fast.Whoops, we've all got way off topic! The blurb for that very beautiful looking strut brace says: "Partly adjustable according to the way of driving and chasis tuning and razor sharp handling".In what way adjustable to tune to the way of driving? And how ‘partly’? I thought a strut brace was a strut brace, end of. I'm probably being thick.
SamboVr6 0
No it's not just you, i was wondering that too.As for going off topic, its what i do best lol

SamboVr6 0
Yep, why use aircon when you can windows down and listen to the engine 8-| messes the hair up a bit but its worth it i reckon.
