binliner 0
My heater has started playing up... seems to work fine for about 20 minutes then it just goes cold for a while. It does get hot again but keeps going cold again. Does this sound like the heater matrix? Is there a way to confirm it?
binliner 0
Just checked behind the heater controls and everything is connected and working, also the footwells are dry
binliner 0
Think Ive found the problem... I'm losing coolant but not sure exactly where from. It looks like it's coming from the oil cooler, never heard of them leaking, is there a seal or something or do I nee to replace the whole thing

Ben Seabrook 4
Justin when I had my coolant leak it looked as if it was coming from there but was actually coming out the back of the thermostat housing as it was on slightly crooked.
binliner 0
I'll have a check... I really couldn't see anything around the thermostat housing but I'll have a closer look
Ben Seabrook 4
mmm okay could also be the large o-ring at the back of the housing or the one at either end of the crack pipe mate ?
binliner 0
Just had another look and I can see pink coolant residue around the hoses on the top of the oil cooler so maybe its a split hose or it's dripping down from the crack pipe above. I can't see any around the thermostat housing but I really need to get it up on a ramp so I can see better. If I knew what was broke I could replace it... I just don't want to end up replacing bits for nothing!
