yrmk2 0
the car was owned by a woman for most of its life.it has about 80.000miles on it but dont know for a fact that there the genuine milige as the engine has been replaced.the car was bought by a guy about 5 years ago who used to street race almost every weekend but he bought a type r (yes i know) and the car has been standing still for the last 2 years.i know for a fact that the engine is not ceized as we did turn it with a wrench and it seems to have compretion.i havent checked the comp yet but i did check the block and it dosent seem to be cracked or dyrty with oil.there seems to be some oil between the block and head though. rodney 17
you do have several areas as mentioned. Yes it is possible to get an oil and water mix from eithe head gasket or the crackpipe/oil cooler exchange section. It is also possible that as it has been stood that there is some leaks over the time which are now seen.It is good that you are rebuilding the engine and as a safety then replace the gaskets... But you should also have the scrambled egg un the inside of the oil filler cap if the engine has had a heat and head gasket issueRemember you will not always see oil from the outside if the gasket has an issue.... yrmk2 0
i am considering if there is an isue with the block(damaged/scrached) to fitt oversize pistons but this will have to wait undil i strip the engine.iwill be fitting a reworked head(polished ported gas flowed and posibly with oversize valves.i dond want to alter the cc as i will be fitting a turbo kit later on.i already have the parts but the car must apear stock in order to register the engine on the dmv.(i already have:kinetic exaust manifold, garrett gt3071,turbosmart 38mm externall, kinetic head gasket-9:1cc- frond mound intercoolerapexi rsm, haltech e6k,msd coils turbosmart blow off and cosworth 803 injectors.)i am also considering while building the engine to fitt a shrick inlet but im not sure if its gonna work later on with my turbo setub.the engine will be balanced and blueprinted while its in pieces as a friend has a mashine shop andbuilds rally engines(mostly jap cars for hill climp and drift evends)
