thegoth 5
it does sound like the ecu immobiliser kicking in. normally due to the transducer behind the ignition switch not reading the key,Vince at Stealth, near Cov / L Spa, can recode the ECU so as to remove it completely. UnitedMotorsport 55
Sounds like something has gone wrong with the immobilizer components. We can remove the immoblizer completey from your ECU.The key isnt coded directly to the ECU. There is another control box inbetween, therefore changing the chip in the keys wont work.
grafteratwork 2
so can i try just swaping my ecu and use the same key ????
thegoth 5
you'll need to hold the correct key against the cowling around the ignition to test it.
UnitedMotorsport 55
No. The key is coded to the immobilizer box, which in turn is coded to the ECU. you cant just swap 1 of these 3 seperately. You need to swap ALL 3!You have 2 choices:1. Remove immobilizer from the ECU.2. Fix the problem with the system, and recode another ECU to the car with VAG COM

UnitedMotorsport 55
Immo box is dead. You have 2 options1. Have the immobilizer removed from the ECU.2. Replace the immo box, recode to your car and key, which is going to be ALOT more expensive than option 1.We see this happen all the time.
