davee 0 Posted December 20, 2009 Report Share Posted December 20, 2009 i fitted jamex coilovers on the vr toaday the problem i have is its too low and the wheels are badly rubbing . what way do coilovers work do i wind them up of down to raise the car because i have them down to the point were the springs are loose when the wheel is off the back is fine any ideas whats wrong? Moochalargo 0 Posted December 20, 2009 Report Share Posted December 20, 2009 Mate u need to wind the spring tensioners up the strut! mine are about half way up the thread!!Shit man if youve wound them fully down your car must be slammed!! he he pics of it please before u wind it up again!!Oh its not an exact science but i used a steel rule to measure the fronts and rears to make sure they are the same height side to side if you get me!! Now for the wheels!!i baughrt a second hand set of 17s off set 35 now the tyres are 215 45 so the car wont move now i think there rubbing off the coilovers will 205 40 be ok 1n 17s will tere be any rubbing issues? Moochalargo 0 Posted December 20, 2009 Report Share Posted December 20, 2009 should be ask a local tyre shop to test fit one and see if it clears! a good tyre shop should help you out especially in this economic climate!I am running 215/35/18 and only get a little kiss of the arches over big humps at speed! not sure this helps but hey ho ho ho!!!
