RAPgolfvr6182 2
im not sure but dont think it would be that hard need a bolt to loosen the tensioner off so can remove the belt and then unclip leads from alternator and then unbolt it
The Monk 50
Same as RAPgolfvr6182 states. If it hasn't already come off, you're going to need a lot of force to remove it after the bolts have been removed. Even with Lithium grease or copper slip, you still need a hell of a force to put the alternator back on...if you're unlucky.Easiest way if you've a very stuck alternator is to remove the front of the car like I do for front engine work. Only takes me about 11 minutes to remove/replace everything.
rodney 17
Just for clarity there mate... Is it stuck/siezed or just needs swapping????Like the rest... I did mine in 15mins... including the coffee break.. couple of bolts and a lever to replace tension on refit....
lowvr 0
its nto ever been taken off so im guessing it will be stuck on but it looks liek it will foul the chassis leg on the way out so i though i would need to raise the enginebut wasn't sure if there was a simpler method
The Monk 50
It wont foul the chassis leg on removal. Unless you use it as a pivot point for a bar or something to ease it off.If it is the original, it will usualy be very stiff to remove with the 2 bolts removed. You could be a lucky one though....just squirt some WD40 onto the bolt links to the engine and give it a lil bit.
