roosevelt1st 1
Hi, quite often I have to have two attempts at engaging 1st,3rd or 5th gear. Gear lever seems to only go half way. Pain at traffic lights trying to engage 1st, sometimes have to engage 2nd the move back to 1st. No grounching so not syncro issue (although syncro gone on reverse). Happens when engine/g/box cold or hot,,,,,any ideascheers
DanH 1
pretty sure reverse doesnt use a syncro they cant be sure....im gonna say ur selector forks are worn, i bought a box that was having same trouble as urs (and my current one is) and the dog teeth/syncros werent to good but the main problem was the wear on the tabs that move the hub to selector the gear....not very clear but u can see they are worn and the top one most of all. it should be square and not that funny shape, lost 2mm of material each side!!every selector tab was worn like this and would cause it not to select properly.
