spadam 7
just discovered my gearbox mount is leaking fluid so going to change it, while im at it im guna do the rear mount aswell. my question is are there any mounts from others models/ engines that i could use rather then paying about £150 for 2 vibra technics mounts. think i heard someone say a mk2 disel mount will work for gearbox or is there any other options for stiffer mounts polybush etc any help much appreciate. baz8328 0
i heard its a harsh ride with alot of vibration ?what are they like??
soul-2-soul 3
Just slighty harsher. You can feel a bit of vibration if you really look for it. Think it is worse if you use competion mounts on the gearbox & rear engine,I live in London as well so the roads are not that great either. To me the car just feels so much better now especially in cornerrs & under acceleration. Highly recomend them.
spadam 7
does anyone no if the mk2 diesel gearbox mount fits my gearbox mount on 1998 mk3 vr6. just been told these are solid ruber rather then hydralic and slightly stiffer.
garlicman 0
GSF do these:GSF Part No. 31147B GEARBOX MOUNTING-REAR G3 VR6 1/92 >12/97 £15.60 the same part no. applies for the mk3 1.9 Turbo Diesel , made by one of the giant oem producers (did these stay same betweem mk2 and mk3 maybe?) also GSF Part No. 10139T is the other rear mount £36.50both seem fine to me with a vibra fast road up front, very slight increase in vibration, gear change much better,(mine were shagged/leaking too,)bit more whine fom gearbox maybe, but still wonder if i shouldn't have fitted vibra ones all round though,a la soul 2 soul, but now i'll never know.......just couldn't face spending that much on a Knackered looking 93 vr6 with 172k,when i could be spending the rest on fags 'n'booze etc
