Sunroof drain locations (3dr)

SOunds like a carbon copy of my problem, which turned out to be leaking rear light cluster. Take your boot carpet out and spare wheel. Check drain hole on the boot floor under the spare is clear of debris, and dry out the boot carpet.

My rear light was leaking due to a dodgy foam seal around the rear of the light. I had aftermarket lights, which had a thinner seal. I;ve put the standard lights back on, and the water problem has gone.

You will also need to take out the carpet around the suspension turrets, so you can dry them. ONce i removed the carpets, I could see lots of condensation on the interior metal work behind the carpets. I dryed it, and then jetwashed the car, to confirm that water was leaking. I left the carpet out, and folded down the rear seats, and let it all dry out for a week or so, with AC on all the time.

Water runs up the wiring uner the boot carpet, and makes its way into the rear footwell.

Lights are easy to remove. Just unclip the bulb holder, and undo 3 nuts holding the light in place. Watch out though, as its easy to drop the nuts down the side of the boot, which means you'll never get it back.

ace. will be on that v. soon. boot lining is drying out now as its dripping. i'll check the seals on the lights as they are aftermarket too. as well as the drain holes. didnt think of the boot drain! old man has a de-humidifier which will come in handy. will probably leave that in there for a day and dry it out that way. cheers
