Starting problem :( plz help

Right then, long story cut short

Over the past week of so my car has been ok to start in the morning, but sometimes after say, a mile or two it will stall on its own at the light's/junction, then when i go to turn her over she just keeps cranking over and over then eventually she will start.

so, this has been happening a few times over the past week or so,

and now today, she just wont start what so ever!

Fuel is getting there

Oil light and ignition light is on at start

Every few cranks there is a click from the relay box

any ideas?

i dont see how it could have been temperamental and now its permanent.

i originally thought it was something like an auto choke problem/ or maf problem due to the winter months closing in.

have you had the car on vag-com ?

has it got an immobiliser on it mate ? had the same sort of prob with mine and turned out to be the VW factory immobiliser playing up ?

Na mate not had it on vag-com, tbh i have never really looked in to Vag-com untill last night, might find a friens with a connector and get it on.

And im pretty sure i dont have an imobiliser with it being a conversion and im using the standard barrel and key.

where else would the immobilizer be located apart from the barrel and key?

do you drive it straight from cold with no warm up and also do you do lots of short journeys or does it get good runs??

the immbolisier is coded into the ECU as well mate - mine went wrong and I had to have the code wiped from the EUC - might not be your prob but does sound very similar !

Generally i have a warm up route which consisnts of a 2 mile slow drive, no more revs than 2k, i do try and wait for the oil temp on the MFA to reach arround 60-70 before i take it on the motorway/b road threshes.

the car often sees 4+k rpm and also 50-60 mile cruises

no mate as most peeps only have the "free" version where you can pretty much only view things and clear the fault codes not actually change anything !

But I would defo get in touch with him and get him to vag-com it otherwise it's all a bit speculative !

ahh it wont be what i was thinking then, def get it stuck on vag com... will make searching for the prob a whole lot easier. lol
