Hi guys, so I replaced my crankcase breather valve today (Ford Galaxy part) and as I removed the old split one I noticed like a coil of wire like a birds nest sticking out of the metal pipe from the crankcase... i managed to get hold of it and pull it out and it was like a tightly wound coil acting as some sort of primitive mesh, but it was all twisted.

Is this supposed to be there does anyone know? Or was it rammed in there by a previous owner do you think?

A weird one I know!

i have almost pulled mine out too, and now suffer from excess oil in the air intake, does anyone think a fine mesh would be better?

(or as stan & ollie would say - "thats another fine mesh you got us in" he he)

something like what is used in each side of the AFM, or not in my case :-)
