b16dev 0 Posted October 29, 2009 Author Report Share Posted October 29, 2009 well got my new header tank cap, and its solved the problem, so after spending money on a testing kit a new pump and belt, a £3 cap sorts the lot!! cheers for ur help guys.... its mot time next week...just an other quick question, i have a full system custom exhaust it only has a mid box, no back box or cat... will the car pass without the cat? ive got one on my gti, can i just swap them over? thegoth 5 Posted October 29, 2009 Report Share Posted October 29, 2009 glad it's sorted without having to get the head gasket changed.that old chestnut. primarily depends on the emissions. although some jobs worth testers could quibble about it not being there even if it does pass the emissions test.
