6 Branch Manifold

Recommended Posts

Does any one have any before & after bhp stats on these. Been searching old threads & no one seems to have come up with actual stats?

Got Schrick 268's Cams, Schrick VGI & Supersprint cat back exhuast & was wondering what if any BHP increase to expect so i would know if this was a mod worth doing?

well I have read that a 6 branch, de-cat and exhaust can give you up to 30bhp - don't know how accurate that is and it does sound a bit high to me personally but I have one ready to go on my car mainly as it does increase flow :) for the money I reckon they are a pretty good calue mod mate

Called Vince & he said it's not worth it as I would be lucky to get a minimal BHP increase. He also said that decats where not worth it as well as the charged VR's they see on a regular basis make the same power with or without the cat. So leaving my standard mani on & some cash in my pocket

I got 218BHP from my n/a engine - what figure are you running now?

Have you looked into the G60 final drive?

219 according to the previous owners dyno readout. What mods have you got?

Will be on Stealth's rollers later this month & Tony is doing my chains this weekend.

Yeah I was thinking about the final drive until I saw Pete's post saying that it pushed the MPG down a lot!

I dont own that car now, I wrote it off in the mk3 at the ring, re-shelled it to the mk2, sold it off a little time ago, but the new owners wrote it off.

I had a schrick BVH, wossner low comp pistons, 2.9 rebore, bmc cda, schrick, stock cams. remap.

sod the MPG !! if your planning on supercharging it, your gonna be loosing MPG anyway,

I used to put in 20 quid a day to get runcorn and back, but I was sat on the limiter most of the way there and back.

G60 still well worth it IMO!

yes mate :) the same charger as the one that's just been put up for sale a Z-Engineering one :)

Was yours new or used & how reliable are they esp. the used ones?

mine was used mate and I think as long as they have been treated ok with the oil changed regularly and the bearings then they should be ok - check how many miles they have done on the car etc and you should be fine - have had no issues with mine so far touch wood apart from the usual belt issues, but they are cheap enough to replace luckily :)

A wrapped 6 branch does sound good and improve the exhaust gas flow from the head, especially if you go FI. De cat will reduce exhaust back pressure and adds that raspy sound under hard acceleration. The downside is that you get a little more exhaust noise and a bit of popping back on the overrun. Both of which are great imo :)

I've got the same charger as Ben on mine. Like you I had no plans to up the power much but it came up at a good price at the right time. I haven't done cams or injectors and only have the stage 1, 6psi pulley fitted along with a ported & polished head and lightened flywheel. Just made 250bhp over in Germany. The increase in torque is the major difference imo. If you can keep your schrick and fit the charger you'll have the ideal set up as the schrick switches over just as the charger goes on boost.

Whereabouts in SW are you btw? I can't be that far from you so if you fancy meeting up let me know.

Kevin
