gavinvr6 0
guy and gals. ii have a replacement ecu, for emergencies like since my car is now getting old. anyway the case say's its an af code ecu born 8/93 but when i opened it to check inside i noticed it had a removable 'chip'. am i right in saying early ecu's were solder in not pop in and that there is a possability this is an obd2 ecu in an obd1 case, ie i've been hadalso if this is an early ecu with clip in chip is it possible to flash these like later version's. i can get the relevent chip flasher thing thats the removable chips are put in to write em and am sure i can get the program/software but want to know if it will even be worth trying. can i remove the chip flash a decent map or write my own (yes i know thats not for beginers, but hey everyone started somewhere)also can anyone tell me the codes written on a standard chip in an equally old ecu and in a newer ecu
