DanH 1
right, my oil cooler is leaking, ive bought the seals for it (as i assume these are wots gone) from tps and plan on fitting them monday. the only thing is i dont know wot to expect when i take it off? *-) can anyone give us some tips or advice on wot to expect/do? hate working 'blind' as it were...never taken it off before u see and it looks like a nightmare...... no space in that bay!these are the seals i haveas my sumps leaking to the plan is to get to work about 7 in the morning before work, jack the front up, drain the oil, remove sump and fit the seals on cooler, which should all be done before 8! weld up sump then fit it back on at lunch break - easy lol! fingers crossed theres no more oil patches wherever i stop lolcheers, dan
legvw 0
If your working under your car anyway-to get sump off, then tackle the cooler from there. Drain oil like your going to do. Take off the 2 coolant hoses that go into the cooler, rather then off of the crack pipe as there very fragile! Then un-do the big nut on the end on the cooler 'cap' then it should come off. You don't have to take off the coolant lines but it makes it easier as you can put seals on the cooler infront of you, if you know what i mean! ;-)
