Now I have the stance right on my car and a set of satin black alloys, my next idea is to paint the headlight surrounds satin black along with front and rear VW badges. Has anyone else had the headlamps apart on a mk4 or even done the same?

I also got myself an ebay bargain in the shape of a BMC CDA last night, just waiting for it to be delivered.

Had the front and rear badges off today and painted. Just waiting for the paint to harden up before putting back on.

I haven't had Mk 4 lights apart but my Angel eyes are in bits atm as I'm changing the halo bulbs (Sparkz is). I've seen a few sets of MK 3 lights that have had the internals painted black and it looks good depending on the colout of the car. I think it would suit yours. I've seen a link somewhere about this but can't remember where.

My mate is interested in a BMC for his 4 MO. How much of a bargain was the one you're waiting on?

I won the auction on the BMC CDA and just waiting for it to be delivered. Ended up at £132 including postage.

iv looked at spliting my mk4 lights and they just wouldnt split but i done my mk3 easily so im guessing they use better sealant

iv herd people buy a second set of lights and smash the glass in one and the backs int the othere but that seems a bit of a waste

You could be right about the MK4 lights. I did buy a second set which had already been split so I could change the halo bulbls and use the lenses which weren't chipped. Sparkz did them for me. He said something about gas mark 3? http://i273.photobucket.com/albums/jj201/spindat45/150920091956.jpg

I did a set of lights the same way on my supra, then resealed them with windscreen sealant.

yeh split them with oven or hot air gun or even gf's hair dryer

i have heard mk 4's are nearly inpossible to do. however i have heard of people pooting them in there oven one a lowish head for a while. might be worth looking into. I did my corrado lights but they came apart realy nice! just clips holding them on

Stance is getting there but is slow with letting everything settle between adjustments. Badges back on after painting.

Is it me or is the forum really slow today? Next to go on is the BMC, Milltek, smoked repeaters and soon the decat.

So as a little update to now. The BMC CDA is on and sounds awesome along with the Miltek non res and now a factory cat that has had it's internals removed. Rear camber correction bushes have been ordered from Sydney / Australia but i'll still need rear spacers to get the stance correct. My head unit has been replaced with a Sony i-pod compatible bluetooth set and Alpine component speakers. Headlights still need to be painted but a new shark fin aerial looks the part.
