vr-koj 0
Yellow people, does anyone have experience of running a sports cat along with scrick / shcimmel 263 cams. just spoke to a sports cat retailer and the chap was kind enough to warn me that depending on the valve timing/ overlap, the cat would not cope with the volume of unburnt fuel. Don't want to go the de-cat route unless my only option. Does anyone know if 263 angle cams in general work well with sports cats? Cheers,Rich

rodney 17
they do pop up mate it is just your screen isn't refreshed as part of the process so therfore you cannot see it...You dont hear to many people talking about issues with the cams. It is more to do with restrictive flow and heat than anything else. There are others on here running as happy as a pig in ... So if you have the money then buy a bespoke system which includes a high flow CAT. Otherwise.... Just go with it ir remove it and wait until something happens to the CAT... He suggested I just 'lance' out the cat and re weld the exhaust. I'm yet to hear of any fellow members that have done so ? Or is that a common alternative to fitting a by-pass/ de-cat pipe ? I got 3 weeks to make up my mind as I'm booked in with Vince at stealth for some intake work and re-map. ( still dunno what to do about the bl##dy exhaust ) *-) *-)
rodney 17
Noooooo don't do that... It will mess your emissions up......You can get sections of pipe to replace the CAT and then bolt it back in again for the MOT.... Allegedly... check out everyones fav auction site.. xyber 1
I'd keep a cat or sports cat, over a decatEven race cars have cats and a decat can lose you torque. It would give you higher top end and BHP, but how often do you use it.Torque in the right places is alot more fun

vr-koj 0
cheers for the input guys ! I too have read that decats can lose you torque. they say that a certain level of back pressure is good for torque but too much is bad obviously. I understand the SP 263 cams are rated as having smooth timing and idle so hopefully not too much unburnt fuel to smother a sports cat ? I think that will be my course of action. Thanks again guys for helping me make a better informed decision.. I'll post again with feedback on how the performane is affected once the work is done, cheers,Rich...
