Colour paint matching advice?

Recommended Posts

My problem is that i want to touchup rubdown and mop a few dinks and scratches

I went to the local vw with the colour code from the boot only to find that the current colour does'nt match the colour code from the label in the boot.(waste of a touchup kit)

anyone give me anything to go on to get a match sorted

(don't fancy the idea of halfords we can match and put in a can thing)unless someone says otherwise

at the moment I've tryed the previous owner who told me he only had the car for 4 months before i bought it,and it was'nt him who had the respray done and i have nothing in the wedge of paperwork to say when an owner had a respray either.

so any idea's would be a help thanks

Head to your local bodyshop. They should be able to match the colour on the chips that they have with their relevant paint manufacturer.

Ask them to come out to the car with the VW colour chips and then you can check them as well.

A mainstream bodyshop would be better as they are more likely to hold these where as smaller places would order the paint as they require it.

Hope that helps.

Cheers

Ben

Cheers Ben,

I've just dugout the yellow pages so I'll make a few calls and see if they can do a colour chips match but tbh I'm unsure if its a vw colour that i have as the white on the motor is alot whiter than the LB9A code.but fingers crossed someone can help match it anyhow..
