Looking for a tidy VR6, Need your help guys!!!

Good evening guys, just signed upto the forum and looks fantastic,some awesome cars and plebty going on.

Im currently looking for a tidy VR6 but am quite unsure on whats what with them and of any common faults to be aware of. I have added a link to the car i have been looking at and was hoping you could shed some light on it for me.

I have heard a few bits about the OBD1 & OBD2 engines, what are the pro's and cons of these two and what would be in the golf im currently looking at (p plate) and are there any issues with the timing chains and tensioners?

The car is £1900 complete with the plate,12month test and 6 month tax.

Any advice would be massively aprecciated in helping me find my first VR.

iv seen this car mate, the guy cant shift it...been trying to sell it for ages on E38....personally i wouldnt touch a cat c but thats just me.

if you looking for one, ask if it has had the timing chains done, if not it could be an expensive job for you so take that into account!
