veedubyah 0
Hello there chaps, I have a problem if anybody can help me please. I have a '97 Highline with coilpack AAA engine and the main coolant hose, which runs directly out back of the engine just underneath the throttle body and goes through the bulkhead, this hose has split leaking coolant all over the place. Does anybody know the part number for this hose please as my local vw dealer only have a picture of the distributor cap engine which looks different to the coilpack engine. Anyone's help greatly appreciated, thanks, Martin.
Ben Seabrook 4
I think this is the part number you want mate - 1H0121157A water hose / (throttle valve housing > heat exchanger>cylinder head) should be 21 in this pic

veedubyah 0
Hi there i just want to ask you something about that hose, i've got that part now but there is a slight difference with what is on my car, this new hose has an extra fitting on it just behind the section of tubing which runs across to the throttle body, which my car doesn't have this. Do you know what this is for and can i put a cap over the hole or is there another part i can get from vw the same as what is already on my car.
Ben Seabrook 4
if yours doesn't have it then yeah I would think that you could just blank it off with no worries - if the part number on the hose matched the one you ordered I am slightly surprised they were different
veedubyah 0
Hi there mate, i've found out what this extra fitting is, it's for models with the climatronic air con which my car doesn't have. both part numbers are the same but the climatronic one has the letter 'a' on the end. veedubyah 0
an when it comes to fitting it, id like to do it myself if i can ya know, it looks like a pretty straightforward task. il need to drain all the coolant 1st but which hose will be best to disconnect 1st, common sense tells me to drop it out the bottom radiator hose. is this the prop way to go about it like
craggsy 91
yep bottom hose
