supadupagt4 0 Posted May 4, 2009 Report Share Posted May 4, 2009 lo blokes and dolls..This weekend i did an engine swap on my 1996 1.8 golf cabby, for a 2.8l vr6.All went well with the swap, apart from starting her up.When i bought the donor car everything worked and it ran great.Now in the cab the engine will turn over but won't fire.I checked for spark, but the odd thing is i only get a spark the instant i turn the ignition key to on(not crank) when i turn the key more the spark won't carry on.This happens no matter what i have tried.I took out the standard vag alarm as the central locking wouldn't work.Everything is fine apart from it not having the spark from the plugs.Engine is the one with the dizzy. obd1?all help appreciated.tony.
