soul-2-soul 3
Hi All,In the process of upgrading my brakes to 312mm & need some pads.Does anyone know the pro's & cons if any of using the DS2500(track pads) rather than the DS performance (fast road)?Car is modified running about 215BHP but will never take it on the track. craggsy 91
Its personal choice mate...and down to cash as well. Ive never had DS2500 so cant comment. But I do use race pads myself in EBC Yellow stuff
H13VYY 0
Hi All' date='In the process of upgrading my brakes to 312mm & need some pads.Does anyone know the pro's & cons if any of using the DS2500(track pads) rather than the DS performance (fast road)?Car is modified running about 215BHP but will never take it on the track.[/quote']Im also going for th 312mm setup..im going for the DS2500 pads. Iv heard track pads can cause noisy braking (but good braking) and also produce excessive dust. But for me the better braking outweigh all the disadvantages.
soul-2-soul 3
I have heard nothing but very good reviews on the DS2500 but not sure if I need them on a road only car. Main concerns are what they are like from cold & will they wear the dics quicker. Got the DS performance on my 180BHP MkII 16v with Black Diamond discs & happy with them.Need to make my mind up on plain or grooved discs today as well as my brakes are shagged & I want it sorted before the Easter weekend so that I can dirve my car properly as the brakes have needing doing since I brought it 2 months ago! H13VYY 0
im going for the drilled/grooved just for the looks! The DS2500 (aswell as most performance brakes) will wear out the discs quicker than OEM but that's expected as you get much better braking.About how they perform when cold..i ain't got a clue....Craggsy's running yellow stuff brakes (track brakes)..so it be worth getting his view on how his brakes work in the cold. soul-2-soul 3
Think I am leaning towards the grooved over plain just for the looks as well although the cheaper cost of the plains is appealing. What make of discs are you going for? If I do go grooved then it's black diamond for me.Hopefully some of the DS2500 users can tell me what they are like from cold when they see this post

soul-2-soul 3
Thanks - Had a look on their site a few weeks back but managed to source the calipers, carriers, bolts & spacers seperately so only need some discs now & ideally want it doing before before Friday, How much is the postage & import tax on them?
H13VYY 0
$216 for shipping! Almost as much as the Brake Kit! I might have to get them from here instead! As far as tax im not to sure..it depends on what they class the good as..i think it varies between 0-15% im not to sure.
craggsy 91
My Yellowstuff are good from cold and no squealing.......but really good when some heat in them. Got yellow stuff on back as well now and boy do the grip well
H13VYY 0
good stuff.. you ever thinking about upgrading your rear discs? or you leaving them as standard?
craggsy 91
No need really as they only do some of the breaking. As long as they work correctly with no seized sliders then they will be fine. i've just put grooved discs on

soul-2-soul 3
good stuff.. you ever thinking about upgrading your rear discs? or you leaving them as standard? With Craggsy on this as the rears do not do enough. Think it's a waste of cash so will just put new standard discs & decent pads on the rear when i get the fronts done.

H13VYY 0
so they are good pads for daily but great when racing! So performace ones would be even better for daily but not as good when racing! So it really depends what you use them for. I might go for the performance ones instead..
