Alloy fitment question?

I have found myself a lovely set of bbs rims just wanted to know if they will fit or do i need some special adapters?

Here's the sizes etc:

Rim width: 16"

Rim Diameter: 8J

Offset: 30

Stud Diameter: 114

5 Stud

Fitted with 205/45/16 tyres.

you will need adaptors to get them from 114/5 to 100/5 mate

dont forget then the final offest when the adaptors have been accounted for will be around 10 so they will leave the front faces of the wheels nearly 3cm further out than your current wheels so they will be illegal

if you are going for a set with the wrong stud pattern, you need them to be a nice high offset to allow for the adaptors. German ebay is full of tasty wheels at knock down prices

When you say high could you give me an example. Ideally i want some bbs splits.

mine are ET53 and ET60, before the adaptors

My porsche rims are ET52.5 i think....also merc rims are ET38 I think

So when you say a nice high offset is that all i really need to take into account other than the size and width? Also is there an offset which could be too high, like a limit to stick too or an offset which works best?

Take this into consideration, if the wheel you are buying has an offset of 50, then you can buy adapters that are 20mm thick reducing the offset to 30 which will be fine for a vr.

So equation is :

offset - adater thickness

50 - 20 = 30 ...................

PS: Hard to find high offset wheels unless they are Merc or Porka, I have been looking around for a while

Google 'wheel offset calculator' and click the 1010 tires link and then using your TTs as a guide, input ...........width 7.5 Et32.

The input the details of the wheels your are looking at, but, if they need adaptors, subtract 20 from the ET as a rough guide and that will give you an idea if they'll go on or not

O and another option is to buy wheels with low offsets and have them redrilled OR have your hubs redrilled to suit pcd, both options are something I am researching at the mo...........

Most RH wheels are high offsets because of the multifit system they use
